The Malarca System is an example of divided Imperial government. Due to treaty obligations and CHOAM regulations, the Malarca System is split in rulership between House Harkonnen and House Bajazet. It has been a continuing source of
friction between the two Houses for some time.

The main world, Malarca Prime, is held as part of the Harkonnen domains; the planet is one of the few Harkonnen agricultural worlds, with a modest trade in trillium.

Malarca Secundus, the inhabited moon of Malarca Prime, has a breathable atmosphere and is held by House Bajazet; by treaty, the Sultan holds rights to mine the moon and the nearby asteroid belt of Malarca Drift until Guild Year 10,500.

Both the moon and the belt, formerly rich in rare earths, have been heavily mined for 2 millennia and are thought to be nearly tapped out.
